Responding to Climate Change

The glaciers melting down. Bushfires. And other different climate disasters.

These are some of the news we sometimes see in the television.
It’s a little bit saddening that these events are sometimes caused by us people. We whine about the hot or cold weather, instead of doing something about it. We don’t realize that what we are experiencing is what they call CLIMATE CHANGE. what is Climate Change? Climate change is a significant and lasting change in the statistical distribution of weather patterns over periods ranging from decades to millions of years. It may be a change in average weather conditions, or in the distribution of weather around the average conditions (Wikipedia).
If all the people would be disciplined and do what is right, we could have prevented the climate change. but alas! We now experience it and all we can do now is to not let it get worse. Let us lall help to prevent the climate change. Together, we can all make this happen

Reflection

Making your blog beautiful is hard.
In this grading, I discovered a lot of things in making a blog. I learned how to make it more beautiful. Also, making an HTML document was cool and F-U-N, although I learned some of the basics when I was in my 1st year.

The challenge I encountered was on how to put different blog badges on my blog. Although I didn’t have the time to put one on my blog. Also, remembering the different tags in making an HMTL was hard.

By the help of Google, I learned how to put different types of blog badges. Cool aye?
And by reviewing the tags everyday, I kind of memorized them by heart.

Moving on, I will really put blog badges on my blog. I will always review my lessons to have a good grade and I will make my blog posts more presentable. :)

Upholding English Proficiency for Communicative Competence

English is a language known worldwide. Teachers teach it worldwide. Many countries use it as their second language. Do you now know the importance of the English language?

What if you don’t know the English language? No proper communication can be made if you are put of the country. As I’ve said, English is used as the second language of many countries.
Many try hard in learning it because they know that it is useful. People sometimes consider you illiterate if you don’t know the English language.

If you know English, grammar is a must. People will laugh at you if you don’t know your grammar so we must study hard to know it and be part of the literate.
At first, it may seem like it’s hard but as the saying goes, ‘practice makes perfect’. Let us practice our English language and be good in speaking it.
Also, join us as we all celebrate the English month.

Speak English, communicate effectively. ♥

Scientricity: Energizing Science Clubbers for Sustainable Energy

Everyone should conserve everything that may be conserved. Why? Haven’t you seen the different economic crises that all countries are experiencing right now? That’s why we should conserve everything that can be conserved.
What can we do to help our economy? Conserve. Conserve electricity, water, natural resources, and etc. all these are important to us. But we do some of us people do? We waste water and electricity. We cut off trees even though it is strictly prohibited. And what do we do to our body of waters? It’s all over the news. Garbage is everywhere. People should develop the value of discipline. This may be solved if only everyone would cooperate. Which is much better, cleaning your surroundings or being flooded?

So, people, now that we know what to do, let us all learn how to conserve. Let’s all start NOW.

My Teacher My Hero

The dream begins with a teacher who believes in you, who tugs and pushes and leads you to the next plateau, sometimes poking you with a sharp stick called "truth."  ~Dan Rather

Another hero with no cape and a suit is out teachers. As they say, our teachers are our second mother or father. They were the ones who guided us 5 days a week, since we were 6 years old, 10 months a year. They work hard for us to learn something new. We come to them when we don’t understand a lesson and they help us, patiently.
Being a teacher is a tough job. You have to plan your lessons, you have to teach, you have to make the noisy students quiet and a lot more. This is why I salute the teachers. They have a lot of things in their mind, but still, they have the time to smile.
So for this month, the Teacher’s month, we should treat our teachers properly and specially. We must not make them angry or whatsoever. But we should not do it only for this month, we should do it also after this month. Every day, if we can.
We must make them happy by always paying attention to them and having high grades. It is a great honour to teachers when all their  students have high grades. It is also their pride. They are proud for they think they are effective teachers (when the truth is, they really are.)
So let’s all make a move to make our second mothers and fathers happy.
Happy Teacher’s Month teachers J

A Hero With No Super Powers nor Capes

hero (hir’ō) n.
1, a man admired for his courage, fortitude, prowess, nobility, etc.
2, the principal male character in a play, story or poem.

Heroes? I know that most of you will think about cartoon characters like Superman, Batman and etc. those who wears capes, under wears on the outside and masks. Heroes also have super powers.
But do you really have to have super powers and the amusing suit to become a hero? No. nowadays, we have the so called modern day heroes. They don’t wear the suit and they also don’t have super powers. They are almost everywhere! It can be your neighbor, your classmate, the mailman, it could be anyone. By helping someone in your own way, you are already a hero to that someone.
My modern day hero is no other than my mom. She has a unique power. Yep, she does. The power to love and care for us. Her never ending patience, her hard work and etc. She’s  really a hero. She can also do 2 or 3 things at the same time. How awesome is that? She is also the greatest model I know.
I am so blessed to have a mom. A mom that is a hero for us.

Patrioticism

Every nation, every country has their own language, we Filipinos have the Filipino language.
The Filipino language is a precious gem that should be treasured. It also unites us in different ways.
The Filipino language is something that Filipinos should be proud of. Many Filipinos nowadays think that speaking in English is better than speaking in Filipino. These Filipinos don’t know the word patriotic. They think that talking in English is so much better than using Filipino.
Dr. Jose Rizal once said that those who don’t use their own language is much worse than a stinking fish.
So let us all be patriotic. Let’s use our own language. Be proud of what we are. Be proud of who we are. ♥

SONA: A New Beginning

The recent SONA of Pnoy last July 23,2012 at the Session Hall of the House of Representatives, Batasan Pambansa Complex, Quezon City garnered a lot of reactions from the citizens of the Philippines, including , me.
The said SONA of our president was full of truths and also, lies, according to some people.
I think that the SONA is a good one. Though i don’t agree to some of what Pnoy said, like, the rate of the crimes in the Philippines are going down. A lot reacted to that statement by our president. According to some experts, that statement is really not true since our country’s crimes were raised.
One thing that I like the best was that, the president raised the budget of DepEd. I hope that this increase will be clearly seen this year.
Pnoy made a lot of projects and I hope that all this projects will be done this year. And also, I hope that God will always strengthen and guide Pnoy throughout his term so that he will be a more effective and efficient president to the Philippines.

Veggies are GOOD.

Vegetables are nutritious. Everyone knows that. But not everyone likes veggies. Do you know why? For me, I think it’s the taste. Most veggies don’t look good and it goes the same with the taste. For example, the bitter gourd. I doubt that everyone likes this vegetable. It’s green and bitter. Yeah, it doesn’t taste good bit it does have nutrients that our body needs.
I know, I know. It really doesn’t taste good, but we can do something about it if you’re creative enough. Search the internet for delicious recipes. Try it and, who knows, maybe you’ll like it. The good thing is you’re having fun doing this and at the same time, your body is also beginning to get healthy too. Isn’t it great? So practice eating vegetables and have a great body
